Upcycled Vesper jacket #1 - size S|M

One of a kind – handmade by me in Copenhagen. There is only one.

Upcycling has been part of my work ever since I started WEIZ Copenhagen 25 years ago. I love the idea of giving old materials a new life and turning them into something even more beautiful than before.

This jacket began its life as a vintage silk scarf that had been sitting unused at the bottom of my wardrobe for years.

My first idea was actually to make a vest. But then I got a new idea. So after many hours of cutting, quilting and hand-sewn gold stitching, the scarf was transformed into this short jacket.

I made it myself in my workshop in Copenhagen. And there is only one.

How it is::

Hand-quilted with decorative gold stitching, lightly structured and reversible

Short silhouette with a wide tie belt at the waist

Contrasting orange and purple fabric on the reverse, finished with lilac binding

This jacket is a size S|M

Loose, slightly boxy fit. True to size.

Wear it like this:

For everyday wear over a simple T-shirt, shirt or knit.

Or layered over your favourite dress on cool summer evenings.

Or simply as a little piece of wearable art when you feel like making an ordinary day a little more special.

It is the same jacket – simply styled differently.

Materials & care:

Handmade by me in my Copenhagen workshop.

The front is made from a pre-loved silk scarf.

The reverse and details have been carefully selected from my archive of surplus textiles.

A mix of silk, cotton, viscose and other textiles.

There is only one of this jacket – that is part of the magic.
